SNEHA BHARTI

Sneha Bharti, the founder of Purnkuti NGO, is a visionary leader dedicated to empowering women and creating positive change in society. With a rich background in the corporate world, including 12 years of experience in esteemed investment banking firms such as Morgan Stanley, Citibank, JM Financial, Kotak Securities, and ATC Polaris, Sneha Bharti brings a wealth of expertise to her philanthropic endeavors.

In 2011, Sneha Bharti embarked on a mission to give back to society and founded Purnkuti NGO. Starting with like-minded individuals, she initiated the organization’s journey in Bihar, with a focus on uplifting women as the primary beneficiaries. Recognizing that women play a pivotal role in promoting the well-being of their families, Sneha Bharti devised programs that addressed their needs in health, hygiene, and education.

A key aspect of Purnkuti’s initiatives is the skilling and entrepreneurship programs offered to rural women. These programs enable women to attain self-sufficiency and contribute to their family’s welfare. Through the creation of various art forms, such as Sindi applic, sujani, and kadai art, women produce products for home decor. These products are then sold through popular e-commerce platforms like Amazon and Flipkart, as well as corporate exhibitions. The income generated from these ventures supports their livelihoods and enables them to invest in their children’s education.

In addition to her focus on women’s empowerment, Sneha Bharti established the Waterlily Public School in 2011 to cater to the educational needs of children from the women beneficiaries. Purnkuti NGO also extends its impact through various initiatives. In 2016, Sneha Bharti introduced skilling and entrepreneurship courses for migrant labor women, offering free training in areas such as tailoring, beauty parlors, and masala-making. Remedial classes were also provided, acknowledging the difference between physical and mental age.

During the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Sneha Bharti and Purnkuti NGO stepped forward to assist the marginalized community living in the red-light area of Pune. They provided essential ration and medical kits to approximately 2,500 sex workers, offering immense support to their lives. Moreover, the organization offered courses and remedial classes for sex workers and transgender individuals, as well as educational opportunities for their children.

Sneha Bharti’s impact through Purnkuti NGO extends far and wide. Over the years, she has assisted around 2000 women, 3000 female sex workers, 500 transgender individuals, and 2000 children, making a significant difference in their lives. This volunteer-driven organization has successfully partnered with corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives to amplify its impact and support countless individuals in need.

Throughout her journey, Sneha Bharti has faced numerous challenges, including working with HIV-infected sex workers, children from red-light areas, and transgender individuals. However, her unwavering determination to provide psychological support and improve their lives has been the driving force behind Purnkuti NGO. Driven by her passion to create lasting impact and empower women, Sneha Bharti continues to champion the cause of those in need, highlighting the struggles and achievements of HIV-infected sex workers and shedding light on their transformative journey.
